Sam is an award-winning government and media practitioner who is experienced at leading complex and sensitive briefs across a range of sectors including technology, professional services, infrastructure and health.  

As a government relations lead in the UK, he helped a range of technology companies navigate and influence the Online Safety Act and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act. This includes working with household names including Gumtree and MOTORS on policy issues as diverse as online safety, competition policy, and fraud.

Across the built environment, Sam has served as lead public affairs adviser for clients including Homes England, Legal & General and Berkeley Group on nationally significant infrastructure and regeneration projects. His experience spans one of Europe’s largest regeneration schemes at Ladywood in Birmingham, where he led strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, through to major infrastructure projects such as the West Midlands Gigafactory, where he supported the public affairs programme. Over his career, Sam’s counsel has helped secure planning approvals for developments with a cumulative value exceeding £1 billion.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sam also played a crucial role supporting aged care providers through rapidly evolving regulations. He worked closely with providers to influence and shape legislation that protected residents and supported frontline staff.

Prior to working in public affairs, Sam was a Policy Researcher within local government where he helped build a network of business leaders to promote local SME opportunities and increase exports. He also worked as a freelance writer and has been published in leading titles such as The New Statesman. 

Sam was named Young Achiever of the Year at the UK's prestigious 2024 CorpComms Awards.
